A new venue for The Cobblemonster

For 2018 we move from our birthplace, SE19 and move to a bigger venue in Brixton, the capital of South London.
Brixton Jamm
Our new host this year will be the excellent Brixton Jamm at 261 Brixton Road, London SW9.

The formula will be a little different this year. Registration and the start will take place from 8 am at the Brixton Cycles Shop and the finish will be at Brixton Jamm, where you’ll find a selection of fine ales, food, a post-ride raffle and of course large screen Paris-Roubaix which is Europe’s other big bike ride that day.

Brixton Cycles Shop, 296-298 Brixton Road, London SW9 6AG from 8am

Entry to The Cobblemosnter remains free – we only ask that you consider donating £15 to our target charity, Evelina London.

We would like to thank the excellent Gipsy Hill Tavern – the staff, the punters – for their hospitality and support for the last five editions and in particular the mercurial Frank the landlord who went above and beyond in supporting us.

2017 Cobblemonster route

The 2017 route clocks in at just under 38 miles.

There are 28 Pave sectors and 6 lung bursting hills.

A full map of the route will be given to all starters. Additionally the route is fully signed.

A spreadsheet of the route is available for download here.

We’re Cobblemonster!

Hi there

After six editions and a years break the former TLC team return with the Cobblemonster, London’s original and best Urbosportive!

The idea is startlingly simple and familiar: we meet at the Gipsy Hill Tavern, depart for cobbles and climbs aplenty beofre returning to SE19 for food, drinks and BIG SCREEN PARIS-ROUBAIX and a raffle with BIG PRIZES.

Anybody on the old TLC mailing list will get an email with detail of how to enter then.

As ever our target charity is The Evelina Children’s hospital and all profits from the event go their way.

Hope to see you all again on Sunday the 9th of April 2017 at The Gipsy Hill Tavern, London SE19.
